We have built hundreds of homes in NE Florida. From complex zoning to unique construction such as Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) we take pride in designing and installing a 'perfect' air conditioning system from the start. If you are a builder who is interested in having the absolute best HVAC system installed in your homes, please contact us today.

The 'lowest bid' system that so many builders use encourages contractors to cut corners in order to get their work. Unfortunately, the homeowner is the one who ends up paying the price. From the design process to the actual installation, we do work as we would do it in our own home. Although we are able to be highly competitive with our bids, Chase Air does not do business with 'bottom line' builders.

Heating and Cooling systems will only operate at the label efficiency if they are:

• Installed correctly.
• Connected to a well designed and sealed duct system.
• Properly sized for the house.

Part of the Chase Air commitment to New Construction excellence includes:
Designing "Air Quality Friendly" ductwork and Equipment for every budget - this requires not cutting corners with lower quality materials. As a general rule, we avoid the use of fiberglass on the inside of ductwork. Sheet metal and flex, when properly installed and sealed make a duct system that is worthy of our 100 year warranty. Though it is more difficult to work with, we are committed to using mastic to seal all of our ductwork because it is a superior material.

Properly sizing of air ducts - We are a design/build company. Using design software* we are able to calculate not only the proper size of the unit, but the proper size of the ductwork. Studies across the country have documented restricted airflow problems in new and existing houses. In one recent study, over 75% of the houses checked had low airflow. The main causes of low airflow include:

• Return ductwork is too small.
• Too many ductwork bends and turns.
• Poorly designed filtration systems.

Low airflow can lead to much lower comfort levels, increased utility bills, and premature equipment failure!

Every duct system we design and install is sized according to the technical manual put out by the Air Conditioning Contractors of America. Holding this standard causes our return ductwork to be generally one size larger than what would pass inspection in the most stringent county in N Florida! From our experience, nearly 9 out of ten return trunks are undersized. This can make for a system that kills your wallet. For example, one system had a 14" return on a 3.5 ton heat pump. This system, if properly charged in cooling mode, would trip the high pressure switch in heat mode. The electric bills for the house were over $250 most of the time. All for the contractor to save $150 during construction!

Proper charging of equipment at start-up - The amount of refrigerant gas installed in an air conditioning or heat pump system is critical to proper operation. A number of recent studies by large utility companies have shown that approximately 75% of all installed systems have either too much or too little refrigerant installed. Improper refrigerant levels reduce the efficiency and capacity of the equipment and can lead to premature failures. We charge using the only procedure that can guarantee a proper charge. This procedure is not unusually complex, but it can be quite time consuming which is why it is so little practiced.
